Lemuel Siddons’ Honor Roll of Scouting Achievement

Overview
Let’s face it: Follow-Me Boys is a classic Scout movie really more for adults, not youth. It is because many who are passionate about Scouting want to leave a legacy, have an impact beyond themselves, and see Scouting thrive. In the end, Lem was the “richest” man in town! We feel these Scouters are also some of the richest people in town.

Gila River District Scout Family of the Year

Overview
The family is an important part of Scouting. Family support for each youth is vital to his or her success in Scouting. Those parents who volunteer as leaders are a vital support for other kids as well as their own. The extra effort that parents put forth as leaders, in addition to their family responsibilities, deserve to be recognized. But when the whole family is involved in Scouting, they deserve recognition all the more. The Family of the Year award is a way to honor these families by selecting, from those nominated, the family whose work as a team in Scouting has made the greatest difference in our community.

Distinguished Commissioner Service Award

Overview
For commissioners who have earned the Arrowhead Honor and Commissioners Key, served five years of continuous service, and completed a project for their council; this award also emphasizes unit service.

The Distinguished Commissioner Service Award is the highest recognition that can be given to a commissioner. It recognizes an individual who has consistently engaged in distinguished and exceptional commissioner service resulting in significant, positive impact on youth, units, and a district and/or council.

In determining the value of such service, consideration must be given to the candidate recipient’s commissioner position and the corresponding opportunity to render outstanding and exceptional service beyond the expectations for that commissioner position.

Who Can Earn This Award?

Specific forms are required to be filled out and submitted to the Council Commissioner.  The nomination form is reviewed by a selection committee and, if selected, the Council Commissioner makes the presentation.
