Guiding Principles of the District

Since 2018, we have been following these principles.

  1. “If you’re not first, you’re last” – Ricky Bobby

  2. “If you ain’t doin’ Roundtable, you ain’t doin’ Scouting” – E. Robert Ermy

  3. If you are not growing, you’re dying

  4. If you can’t see the water, don’t eat the fish

  5. Always recruit – never surrender

  6. If you program it thoughtfully, they will come

  7. When facing Zombies, always double tap

  8. Scouting works better with lots of hands and lots of minds

  9. Everyone contributes their 1 – and only 1 – thing Example: Video

  10. There is nothing as detrimental as a well-meaning but untrained volunteer

  11. Don’t wear your socks out in the rain – The Fonz

  12. “Whenever you are asked if you can do a job, tell ’em, ‘Certainly I can!’ Then get busy and find out how to do it.” – President Theodore Roosevelt

  13. We take what we do seriously – preparing youth for life – but we do not take ourselves seriously

  14. Make a decision – any decision – even if it is wrong – the United States Marine Corps
